museum of ice cream, round 2!

it's rare something is as good as you remember it, but this is one of those times. we first visited the museum of ice cream in 2016 before pop-ups were a thing-- i think it was the first of its kind, really. we've never gone back because it was so fun back then & i assumed it couldn't be as great. (plus it's expensive.) and my kids rarely agree on anything these days but harvey asked, and he'd never been (he wasn't even a glimmer back when we visited last time! elle was harvey's age!)... so the day before school started, we went first thing (it's cheaper first thing).

it. was. amazing.

way too much ice cream, and a lot of cotton candy, all before breakfast, and somehow no one was ill. (we have a high tolerance i suppose:)

our first visit to the museum of ice cream-- back when it was a pop-up in TWENTY SIXTEEEEN-- here!

here's the film from our morning...

central park in the fall, 2022 edition.

central park walking date, 2022.

the leaves were 2 weeks ahead of schedule this year- i blame it on this crazy drop in temperature the first day of fall that lasted a solid week. last year we did this walk weeks later (see?).

the fountain emptied out as soon as the marathon passed through (it was 75 that day).

now, all these trees all bare.

today was a balmy 30 degrees.

winter is coming.

we walked the entire length of manhattan!

last week between school drop-off & pick-up, me & mikey ran/walk the entire length of manhattan.

we took the subway to 215th street, then did a 5 mile run, followed by the remaining 9 miles walking.

we ran until the blocks got too choppy. stopped as we passed our apartment so i could change from running shoes to sandals (if you know me, you know). stopped a couple more time for some of our favorite snacks en route (see: oakberry), and finished up at the tip of manhattan-- a wave to lady liberty from battery park.

it took 4 hours on the DOT.

then we took the train back home just in time to get the babies from school.

it was SO incredibly fun.
