a "peace out, summer" night at cherry hill.

utah has been all over the place lately with weather- i mean, utah is a desert.      summers are hot and dry.       the end.     well, i feel like july was august, and august was october. i'm not sure what september will turn out to resemble, but the fact that summer is "over" according to the 3-day weekend bookends of memorial and labor day, depresses me. 

friday night we headed to cherry hill for one last hurrah, even though i hope to high heavens it's not over yet! last a little longer, summer! you faked me out with that whole "unusually cool and wet" spell for most of august. don't go yet! and please, get rid of all the added mosquitos while you're at it. thanks!

^^ jude watched elle swing from the railing as we waited to get in. he then copied her.

jude ate our favorite yogurt. so did his body.

^^ uncertainty, turned delight via the slide elle repeated 100 times. 

also noteworthy but not pictured are mike and my rides down cardiac canyon- this river run where we basically swirled like we were in a toilet bowl, and ended up on dates with other people- me with a 7-year-old boy, and mike with a bunch of 12-year-old girls- after mike ditched me in hopes for a faster route down the "rapids." basically, we just kept getting stuck and i about peed my pants from laughing. i haven't laughed that hard in ages!

thanks to my parents for partying with us and all the other high school kids who filled the park last friday night:)

summer night & concert at cherry hill >>

so... my dad is an incredibly selfless man (and my mom is incredibly supportive), and he spends every weekend in the summer (yes, all) volunteering at cherry hill doing sound for their evening concert series! we've never been because our babes go to bed before they begin, but seeing as though summer nights are dimming a little earlier, and days are getting just a tad bit cooler... we thought we better head over before it was too late! we went to swim for a couple hours before the show began...

^^ ok, so none of us swimming, but trust me, we swam. not for long... because the wind was a weeeeee bit chilly, but we swam nonetheless!

^^ we left to bathe babies & get ready for bed, and returned as the sun started to set and the show began.

^^ i rocked juju in his car seat with my foot, and he zonked out (thank heavens he has better sleeping habits than his sister who would rather do this.......) 

^^ ... and elle partied hard until we were mean parents and headed home for bed:)

if you're in davis county, go! there are a few shows left. they're free, and so fun! and you can say hi to my dad. he looks like that (^^) :)

cherry hill birthday.

i may have had more fun than mike on his birthday.

the morning was insanity. so busy. i zoomed downtown...

birthday boy got off at noon (HELLO, AWESOME), and while elle napped at my parents, we went to a (drumroll...) MOVIE! "crazy, stupid, love." oh, i love movies. oh, i miss movies!

it was like, a real date! so much fun.

so fun.

later we went to cherry hill w/ my parents for some fun in the (hot) sun!

elle was in looove with the lazy river.

we all laughed & played.

my dad "runs" (is that right?) their summer concerts each weekend, all summer long, so they know their way around that place!

we all had some greasy park dinner & finished off the night with a trip to sports authority (clearly, my fun ended there. but i guess it was his birthday after all...)
